Bowmore 12 Year Old is an Islay single malt in the dumpy bottle, bottled in the 1980s at 40% ABV in a 75cl bottle. Bowmore is the oldest distillery on Islay and malts its barley in-house.
The nose is fresh apricot, ripe pear and orange peel, with nutmeg, rosemary and a little oak. On the palate, honeyed malt and green apple sit alongside cinnamon and vanilla, with a smooth texture. The medium-long finish brings salted caramel and toasted almond, with lingering warmth.
