Bowmore – 12 Year Old (75cl, 40%)

Bowmore 12 Year Old is an Islay single malt in a 750ml bottle, bottled at 40% ABV. It was matured for twelve years in a combination of ex-bourbon and sherry casks. The bourbon wood keeps the spirit bright and honeyed, while the sherry casks add body and dark fruit. Bowmore has distilled on the shore of Loch Indaal since 1779, and part of its barley is malted on traditional floor maltings. The peat is kept at a medium level. It is typically described as subtle lemon and sweet heather honey set against peat smoke, with dark chocolate on the palate and a long, mellow finish.
