Bowmore 12 Year Old Sherry Oak is an Islay single malt in a 70cl bottle, bottled at 40% ABV. It is the entry expression in the distillery's Sherry Oak range.
The whisky was aged in oloroso sherry and bourbon casks, then finished in oloroso sherry-seasoned casks. It won Gold in the single malt Scotch up to 12 years category at the 2026 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
The nose offers vanilla caramel, red berries, marzipan and icing sugar, with hints of dried fruit. On the palate come ripe pears, lemon juice, cinnamon, toasted almonds and peaches in syrup, with smoke building steadily. The finish is long and spicy.
