Bowmore 12 Year Old Sherry Oak is an Islay single malt from the Bowmore distillery, founded in 1779. It is matured in Oloroso sherry casks and ex-bourbon barrels and bottled at 40% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
Gentle peat smoke sits alongside sherry sweetness, with a maritime character. The nose has warm honey, dried fruit and light sherry sweetness with a little sea salt and gentle smoke. Creamy toffee, ripe fig and roasted nuts come through on the palate, with delicate peat and oak spice. The finish is long and warming, slightly smoky, with sherry richness.
