Bowmore – 15 Year Old (43%)

Bowmore 15 Year Old is an Islay single malt bottled at 43% abv. It was matured first in bourbon barrels, then spent its final three years in Oloroso sherry casks. Those last three years give the whisky its deep colour, described as burnt sienna, and a robust, warming finish. The nose combines dark chocolate and raisin with the classic Bowmore smokiness. On the palate there is cedar wood and rich treacle toffee, and the finish is spicy, with toffee, sherry and barley.
