Bowmore 15 Year Old is an Islay single malt bottled at 43% ABV in a 75cl bottle. It was matured in bourbon barrels, then spent its final three years in Oloroso sherry casks, which give it a deep colour and a robust, warming character.
It was formerly sold under the name Darkest. Bowmore Distillery has been distilling since 1779.
The nose brings dark chocolate, raisin and smoke. Cedarwood and treacle toffee run through the palate, and the finish is spice, toffee, sherry and barley.
