Bowmore 15 Year Old Sherry Oak is an Islay single malt bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. It was matured in oloroso sherry and bourbon casks, then finished in casks seasoned with oloroso sherry.
The distillery's coastal peat smoke is set against the dark sweetness of the oloroso.
The nose has Corinth raisins, sweet dates, sweet spices, cinnamon, cocoa beans, a hint of dark chocolate and subtle smoke. The palate offers cedarwood, treacle toffee, clove spice and liquorice root. The finish is rich and wooded, leading to a lingering sweet spice.
