This is a 15 year old single malt from Bowmore on Islay, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle.
It matures in American oak ex-bourbon casks and European oak Oloroso sherry casks, then spends a final period in Oloroso sherry casks. The soft peat smoke sits alongside dried fruit, dark chocolate and warm spice.
The nose offers raisins, sweet dates, dark chocolate and cinnamon, with gentle peat behind. The palate is rich, with treacly toffee, cedar, clove and a hint of liquorice. The finish is long and warming, with dark chocolate, dried fruit and woody spice.
