Bowmore 18 Year Old Sherry Oak Cask is an Islay single malt at 43% vol., in a 70cl bottle. It matures in ex-bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks and then receives a finish in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. The colour is soft mahogany.
The nose offers candied orange, creamy caramel, toffee, ripe nectarine, butterscotch and a touch of menthol, wrapped in gentle peat smoke. On the palate there are roasted almonds, nutmeg, fennel seed, liquorice, dark chocolate, honeycomb, maple syrup and juicy orange. The finish is warm and expressive, with light smoke like a freshly lit fire.
