Bowmore 18 Year Old is an Islay single malt, bottled at 43% in a 75cl bottle. It was matured for eighteen years in a hand-selected mix of ex-bourbon and sherry oak casks, kept in Bowmore's No. 1 Vaults, a warehouse at sea level.
The distillery's medium peat smoke sits alongside the fruit and chocolate that long sherry-cask time brings. Bowmore was founded in 1779.
On the nose it is mellow, with creamy caramel toffee, ripe fruit and smoke. The palate has soft fruit and chocolate with light smokiness, and the finish is long and well balanced.
