Bowmore 18 Year is an Islay single malt aged 18 years and bottled at 43% ABV in a 750ml bottle. Bowmore Distillery was founded in 1779 on the shores of Loch Indaal.
The whisky is drawn from 65% American oak ex-bourbon barrels and 35% first-fill European oak Oloroso sherry butts, which bring dark fruit and chocolate alongside the coastal peat smoke.
The nose offers sweet peat smoke, orange peel, baked apple and caramel. The palate is honeyed, with green apple, peppery peat, dark chocolate and baking spice, and the finish is long, with soft smoke and dry sherry spice.
