This is a 9 year old Islay single malt from Bowmore, a limited edition from the Feis Ile series, bottled in 2009 at 57.1% ABV. Only 900 bottles were filled, each of 70cl.
It was matured in a mix of sherry, bourbon and wine casks.
The nose combines ripe orchard apples, lemon, dried figs and blackberries with cinnamon and light oak char. The palate is full-bodied and oily, with dark chocolate, fig compote, toasted almonds and a hint of brine. The finish is long and warming, with spice, honeyed oak and a gentle trail of smoke.
