Bowmore 21 Year Old Sherry Oak is an Islay single malt in a 70cl bottle, bottled at 46.8% without chill filtration. It was matured in bourbon and oloroso sherry casks, then finished in first-fill Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. It was named World's Best Single Malt at the 2026 World Whiskies Awards.
The nose is tobacco leaves, heather, iodine and ginger, with tanned leather, toffee, treacle and beeswax. The palate offers sweet toffee, vanilla and treacle with oranges, cinnamon and nutmeg, alongside barbecued meat, red berries, stewed rhubarb and a little salty smoke. The finish is long and spicy, with sweet woods and gentle smoke.
