This is Bowmore 22 Year Old The Gulls, an Islay single malt at 43% ABV, in a 70cl bottle. It comes in a blue ceramic decanter decorated with seagulls, held in a matching blue wooden box, and its design is meant to symbolise love and loss.
The nose combines ripe pear, green apple and candied orange with ginger, mint and subtle oak. The palate is golden honey and baking spices, with toasted almond, a touch of sea salt and a velvety mouthfeel. The finish is long, with gentle peat smoke and delicate vanilla.
