Founded in 1779, Bowmore is Islay's oldest licensed distillery and one of the oldest in Scotland. Located on Loch Indaal, it is renowned for its balanced, medium-peated spirit and traditional production methods, including its own floor maltings. Now owned by Beam Suntory, Bowmore produces a wide range of age-stated and special-edition single malts. Its No. 1 Vaults, one of Scotland's oldest maturation warehouses, contributes to its distinctive maritime character.
