A 29 year old Islay single malt from Bowmore, released as part of the Timeless Series in a limited run of 3,000 bottles. It is bottled at a cask strength of 53.7%.
The whisky is a combination of malt from sherry-seasoned European oak casks and ex-bourbon American oak barrels, filled in 1991 and 1992.
The nose opens with dark fruits like sherry-soaked raisins, followed by cocoa, bitter orange, cherry blossom and liquorice. The palate is rich and layered, with sweetness set against peat and sea salt. The finish is long, warming and drying, with salt on the lips.
