Bowmore Timeless is a 27 year old Islay single malt, bottled at a cask strength of 52.7% abv in a 70cl bottle. The release numbers 3000 bottles.
It spent its first 15 years in Sherry and Bourbon casks, then moved to first-fill Oloroso butts for a further 12 years.
Tasting notes describe cooked plums, prune jam, raisins and toffee on the nose, with tobacco, rich cocoa and Islay peat smoke on the palate. The finish is long, with burnt wood, dried fruit and a touch of frankincense.
