Bowsaw Rye is an American whiskey in a 70cl bottle, distilled and aged in northern Kentucky close to the Ohio river. The name nods to whisky tradition: a bowsaw is the cooper's saw used to cut the heads of whisky barrels.
The mash is 75% corn, 21% rye and 4% malted barley. It was aged for 4 years in ex-bourbon casks from Kentucky, which qualifies it as Kentucky Straight Corn Whiskey.
The nose brings oak, cinnamon and banana. The palate is soft yet firm, with toffee, nuts, peanuts and maple syrup, and the finish is spicy and creamy with cinnamon and vanilla.
