Stravecchio Branca is an Italian brandy from Fratelli Branca, made in the spirit of the great Cognacs. It is a blend of wines aged between 3 and 10 years, matured in oak barrels.
The barrels are never emptied completely: a third of the blend always stays behind, much as in the solera method used for Port, so each new filling meets older brandy.
On the nose there are dried figs, apricot and dates, with broom and orange blossom over sweet spice, butter, cinnamon and vanilla. The palate is refined, balancing the sweetness of the fruit against the spirit, with aromatic herbs returning throughout. The finish is dry and clean.
