Branson XO is a Grande Champagne Cognac blended by Raymond Ragnaud, a family-run house in Grande Champagne since 1860, now in its fifth generation. It is made from eaux-de-vie from the Grande Champagne 1er Cru area, hand-harvested and estate sourced.
The eaux-de-vie were distilled in an original pot still from the 1800s and aged in Sessile oak, some barrels more than 50 years old. The minimum age is 10 years, and some eaux-de-vie are over 25.
The colour is deep brown with a bronze hue. Floral and citrus notes sit with hints of tobacco, honey and chocolate, with almost no burn and a very long finish.
