Breath of Speyside 16 Years Old 2009 Adelphi Selection

Breath of Speyside is Adelphi's name for single malt from a Speyside distillery that is not named. This bottle was distilled in 2009 and matured for sixteen years in a single first fill Oloroso sherry butt before being bottled by Adelphi Selection. A butt holds around 500 litres, and on its first fill with Scotch it passes on plenty of sherry influence. Oloroso is a rich, dry sherry from Jerez in southern Spain, known for nutty, dried-fruit character. It is a single cask bottling at natural cask strength, with natural colour and no chill filtration.
