Breckenridge Colorado Bourbon is an American bourbon bottled at 43% in a 750ml bottle. It is distilled at Breckenridge Distillery, which sits at 9,600 feet in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado.
The mashbill is 56% corn, 38% green rye and 6% unmalted barley, a high proportion of rye for a bourbon. It is distilled on a Vendome copper pot still and aged for a minimum of three years in charred new American oak barrels. Snowmelt water from Mount Quandary is used for distillation and proofing.
The nose offers honey, butterscotch, candied orange peel, baked apple and cinnamon. The palate brings cacao, brown sugar, rye spice, black pepper and vanilla. The finish is medium-long, with vanilla, white pepper and gentle tannic dryness.
