Breckenridge PX Cask Finish is an American blended whiskey bottled at 45% ABV in a 75cl bottle. It comes from Breckenridge Distillery in Colorado and is built on a high-rye mashbill of 56% corn, 38% rye and 6% malted barley.
The spirit spends at least three years in charred new American oak before a second maturation in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks from Andalusia, in Spain.
Red fruit and dried fig lead the nose, with vanilla, oak, caramel and orange marmalade. The palate has red fruit, golden raisins, fig compote and toffee, with black pepper and nutmeg from the rye. The finish is medium to long, with allspice, plum skin and fruit leather.
