Breckenridge PX Sherry Cask Finish is a high-rye bourbon bottled at 45% ABV in a 750ml bottle. The mash bill is 56% corn, 38% rye and 6% malted barley, aged for a minimum of three years in new, number 3 char American white oak.
It then spends a further four to six months in retired Pedro Ximénez casks, taken from a solera stack hundreds of years old in Andalusia. First released in September 2017, it was named Best American Blended Whiskey at the 2018 World Whiskies Awards.
The nose offers fig compote and almond butter, while the palate brings fruit leather and baking spices, with some creaminess and warmth towards the back.
