Brenne 10 Year Old French Single Malt Whisky (75cl, 48%)

Brenne 10 Year Old is a French single malt from the Cognac region, bottled at 48% in a 750ml bottle. It is made from organic heirloom barley grown in the Cognac fields and distilled in alembic Charentais stills, the same type used for Cognac, at a family farmhouse distillery. The whisky spent ten years in a combination of new French Limousin oak and former XO Cognac casks. It is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour. The nose is perfumed, with baked pear, crème brûlée and orange marmalade over toasted oak and vanilla. The palate is silky and full, with orchard fruit, honey and Cognac-like rancio notes, and the finish is long, with fruit and spice.
