Broken Barrel Small Batch Bourbon Whiskey (75cl, 47.5%)

Broken Barrel Small Batch is a Kentucky straight bourbon, bottled at 47.5% ABV in a 750ml bottle. The mash bill is 70% corn, 21% rye and 9% malted barley. Rather than moving the aged bourbon into a second barrel, Broken Barrel batches it in a tank and finishes it on broken staves. The brand's Oak Bill for this bottling is 40% ex-bourbon cask staves, 40% new French oak staves and 20% sherry cask staves. The nose is oak-forward, with sherry and marzipan over dark honey. The palate is woody and rich, with walnut, charred brown sugar and vanilla cake batter sweetness, and the finish is peppery with orange blossom.
