Brora – Coastal Highland 30 Year Old Natural Cask Strength Single Malt 2009 (70cl, 53.2%)

This is a 30-year-old single malt from Brora, the Highland distillery founded in 1819 and closed in 1983. It was bottled in 2009 as the eighth annual edition of the distillery's 30-year-old Special Release, with 2,652 bottles in total. Each 70cl bottle is at a natural cask strength of 53.2% ABV, without chill filtration or added colouring. The nose brings sea salt, grassy peat smoke, waxy malt, citrus and lychee. The palate is deep and oily, with black pepper and well-integrated oak. The finish is long, with coastal smoke, spice and rich malt.
