Brora 35 Year Old is a Limited Edition Highland single malt from the distillery that was founded in 1819 and closed in 1983. It was distilled in 1977 and matured for 35 years in refill American and European oak casks.
This is the twelfth annual Special Release, bottled in 2013 at a natural cask strength of 49.9%, without chill filtration or added colour. A total of 2,944 bottles were released.
The nose is described as honey, ripe apricot and creamy beeswax, with lemon zest, sea salt, herbal notes and gentle peat smoke. The palate brings coastal character and polished oak, and the finish carries mint, warming spice and lingering maritime smoke.
