Brothers of the Leaf is a Kentucky straight bourbon bottled at 56% ABV, about 112 proof. The mash bill is 75% corn, 21% rye and 4% malted barley.
It is first matured in traditional bourbon barrels, then finished in French oak casks made to a specific toast profile.
The nose is pronounced, with dark chocolate, roasted coffee, exotic spices and rich oak. The palate is full-bodied, with robust spice, caramel and vanilla, and a few drops of water bring out toasted oak. The finish is long and complex, with coffee, dark chocolate, cinnamon and a soft ginger spice.
