Brugal 1888 Gran Reserva Familiar

Brugal 1888 Gran Reserva Familiar is a dark rum from the Dominican Republic, produced by the Brugal distillery, founded in 1888. It is matured for between 8 and 14 years in American white oak casks that previously held bourbon, then finished in European oak casks that previously held Oloroso sherry. It shows an amber colour with golden reflections. The nose brings dried fruit, caramel, vanilla, toasted wood and exotic spices; the palate is complex and velvety, balancing vanilla and caramel sweetness with spice warmth, with a long finish of bitter chocolate and tobacco.
