Bruichladdich – 18 Year Old (75cl, 50%)

Bruichladdich 18 Year Old is an unpeated Islay single malt from the distillery's Luxury Redefined range, bottled at 50% ABV. It is non-chill filtered and has no added colour. The whisky was matured mainly in ex-Bourbon casks, with a small number of Port and Sauternes wine casks. It was distilled after the distillery reopened in 2001 and includes spirit made from the first crop of Islay-grown barley, from 2004, alongside organically grown grain. On the nose it is honeyed malt and vanilla oak, with red berries and apricot beneath. The palate is full and textured, with citrus peel and a mineral sea-spray note, leading to a long, spicy finish.
