This is a 32 year old Bruichladdich from the Rare Cask Series, distilled in 1984 and bottled at the distillery in 2017 at 43.7%. It comes from the final 12 casks of the 1984 distillation, matured in refill bourbon barrels, and 3,000 bottles were produced. It is non-chill-filtered and has a chestnut colour.
The nose has ripe mango, grapefruit and lemon peel with vanilla bean, cinnamon and toasted oak. On the palate, zesty orange meets crème brûlée, butter toffee and a little leather, with a silky texture. The finish is long, with candied orange and apricot jam.
