This is a 23 year old Bruichladdich from the Micro-Provenance series, which master distiller Jim McEwan conceived to explore how casks, barley varieties and maturing conditions shape Islay single malt.
The unpeated spirit was distilled from heritage Optic barley on 22 May 1992 and matured for over 23 years in a single fresh bourbon cask. It was bottled on 24 July 2015.
Bottled at 52% ABV in a 70cl bottle, it is one of 225 bottles.
