Black Art Edition 05.1 is a 24 year old unpeated Islay single malt from Bruichladdich, bottled in 2016 by head distiller Adam Hannett. Just 12,000 bottles were released, at 46.9% ABV in 70cl.
It matured in a combination of American oak and European wine casks, and has a burnished cherry colour. The nose offers dried fruits, vanilla, coconut, dark chocolate and subtle herbal notes. On the palate come dark fruits, honeycomb, nougat, oak spice and a hint of citrus zest, and the long finish has sweet oak, floral tones and gentle peppery spice.
