Black Art 10.1 is the tenth edition of Bruichladdich's Black Art series: an unpeated single malt of 29 years, bottled in 2022 at 45.1% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It comes from pre-Renaissance casks that matured on Islay and was created in private by head distiller Adam Hannett, who had complete creative freedom. It has no added colouring and is not chill-filtered.
The nose is warm and fruity, with chocolate praline, cedar, leather, apricot jam, ripe melon and a little iodine. On the palate come orange barley sugar, ginger nut biscuits, marzipan, raisin and plum, then coconut and warming ginger and cinnamon, in a velvety texture.
