A 1992 Bruichladdich bottled as Black Art Edition 05.1, the first Black Art put together by head distiller Adam Hannett on his own after Jim McEwan. It was distilled in 1992 and bottled on 6 December 2016 at 24 years old and 48.4% ABV, in a run of 12,000 bottles. It is unpeated, non-chill-filtered and free of added colour.
It matured in American oak and European oak wine casks, and the label carries runes and alchemical symbols.
The nose brings figs, autumn berries, sherry, fresh cream and malt. The palate is velvety, with ripe berries, spiced oak, candied fruit and wine-soaked raisins, and the finish is long and dry with plum and peppery oak.
