Bruichladdich – Greener Still 15 Year Old (70cl, 51.6%)

A 15-year-old Islay single malt released to mark 25 years since Bruichladdich was re-founded in 2001. It is distilled from a combination of bere, biodynamic and organic barley, and matured for 15 years in first-fill bourbon barrels on Islay. It is bottled at a natural 51.6% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The release celebrates the distillery's legacy and its commitment to farming and distilling with respect for the Islay landscape. Nose: vanilla and tropical fruit with a nostalgic orange Solero aroma, old-school funk, buttery Bruichladdich lactone character and apricot jam, with garden herbs and coastal minerality in the background. Palate: sweet fudge alongside lemon, pear, grapefruit peel and a touch of banana, thickening to a silky texture with almond, coconut oil, peppery heat and malty warmth. Finish: salted caramel, vanilla and orchard fruit linger long and contentedly.
