Bruichladdich – Islay Barley 2014 Single Malt (75cl)

This is a single malt from Bruichladdich made from Islay barley, with the 2014 harvest named on the bottle. The barley was grown, distilled and matured entirely on Islay, and it comes in a 75cl bottle. It is matured in American and French oak. The nose combines floral notes, sweet malt and soft spice with stone fruit, vanilla, coconut, butterscotch and banana bread. On the palate, creamy vanilla and lemon lead into nutmeg, sweet malt, porridge and tropical fruit, with a creamy, viscous texture. A drop of water brings out subtle marine notes. The finish is sweet stone fruit and vanilla custard, with a lingering floral note.
