Octomore 11.1 is a five-year-old Islay single malt from Bruichladdich, in a 70cl bottle at 59.4% ABV and peated to 139.6 ppm. It comes from the eleventh Octomore series, released in 2020, and 30,000 bottles were filled. The spirit was distilled in 2014 from Scottish barley harvested in 2013 and matured throughout in first fill American whiskey casks. It is non-chill-filtered and free of added colour.
The nose is damp peat with lemon and mineral, salty notes, then peach yoghurt and ginger honey. The palate opens sweet with brown sugar and chilli, then stone fruit, vanilla, toffee and toasted oak. The finish is rich, smoky and peaty, with malt, vanilla, ginger and a campfire smokiness.
