Bruichladdich – Octomore 11.3 2014 (70cl, 61.7%)

Octomore 11.3 is a heavily peated Islay single malt from Bruichladdich, distilled in 2014 and matured for five years. The peating level is 194 ppm. The barley was grown on James Brown's Octomore farm. It was harvested, malted and distilled separately, which makes this a single field, single vintage bottling. It is bottled at 61.7% in a 70cl bottle. Thyme, honey and vanilla blossom lead the nose. On the palate soft vanilla and apricot come first, and the smoke builds slowly. The finish brings heather, salted caramel and lemon.
