Octomore 11.3 comes from the eleventh edition, released in 2020, and is a five-year-old single malt bottled at 61.7% in a 70cl bottle. The barley was peated to 194 ppm, and 18,000 bottles were filled.
The barley is all Concerto, grown on the Octomore Farm on Islay and harvested in 2013. It was distilled in 2014 and matured entirely in first-fill American whiskey casks from Jim Beam, Heaven Hill, Buffalo Trace and Jack Daniels. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colouring.
The nose is floral and fruity with fresh citrus, vanilla, honey and a little smoke. The palate has honey and sugar, spring flowers and apricot jam. The finish is peaty and earthy, with dry grass, fading to toffee caramel and malt sugar.
