Bruichladdich – Octomore 12.1 (70cl)

Bruichladdich Octomore 12.1 is a super heavily peated single malt Scotch whisky from Bruichladdich, in a 70cl bottle. It belongs to the .1 editions of the Octomore series, which are matured only in ex-American whiskey casks. This one spent five years in those casks. It is made from mainland-grown Scottish barley, distilled slowly, and the simple maturation lets the cereal-rich, malty character of the barley come through. Heavy smoke is balanced by a fruity and floral distillate. Vanilla, citrus and fudge are the notes most often picked out in the glass.
