Bruichladdich Octomore 12.2 is a heavily peated single malt Scotch whisky, bottled at 57.3% ABV with a phenol content of 129.7 PPM.
It spent three and a half years in ex-American oak casks before moving into Sauternes wine casks for a further 18 months.
The nose brings melon, honey and smoked almonds with toasted oak and earthy smoke. On the palate there is sweet fruit, lemon zest and vanilla, with orange blossom, caramel, baking spices and a little peat smoke. The finish is a lingering salty lemon tang with oak and earthy peat smoke.
