Octomore 13.3 is a super-heavily peated Islay single malt from Bruichladdich, in a 70cl bottle at 61.1% ABV. It is a single estate, single vintage release, distilled from barley grown on one farm on Islay, raised by farmer James Brown.
It was matured in first fill ex-American whiskey barrels, with a smaller share of second fill European oak casks from Rivesaltes in France and Ribera del Duero in Spain.
Expect vanilla and brown sugar balanced by fresh green fruit. The smoke is gentle and dry, building to a long finish with hints of creosote and sea spray.
