Bruichladdich – Octomore 14.3 5 Year Old (70cl)

Octomore 14.3 is a five-year-old peated single malt from Bruichladdich, distilled from Islay-grown barley harvested two miles from the distillery. It was aged in a combination of first-fill ex-American whiskey casks and second-fill wine casks. The result is a gold-coloured, smoke-tinged whisky with orchard fruit, honeyed sweetness and floral notes. The nose offers sweet mash, biscuit malt and gentle peat smoke, with stone fruit, candied lemon peel, butterscotch and vanilla ice cream. The palate moves from delicate oak to smouldering peat, gorse and honeysuckle, with toffee and vanilla. The finish carries barley sugar, soft caramel and vanilla warmth.
