This is Octomore 16.2 from Bruichladdich, a five year old Islay single malt from the 2025 release, bottled at 58.1% in a 70cl bottle. It was distilled in 2019 from Concerto barley of the 2018 harvest and has a phenol level of 101.4 ppm. It is non-chill-filtered and without added colour.
The whisky first matured in Oloroso and Bordeaux casks, then spent its final year in Madeira and Moscatel casks.
The nose opens with dense smoke, dried fruit, floral touches, earthy peat, toasted oak, nuts and orange blossom. The palate is rich and sweetly smoky, with creamy caramel, roasted nuts, dried fruit and candied citrus. The finish is sweet, smoky and long, with maritime notes and spicy oak.
