Bruichladdich – Octomore 16.2 (70cl)

Octomore 16.2 is a heavily peated Islay single malt from Bruichladdich, made with Scottish barley malted to 101.4ppm. It was matured in Oloroso and Bordeaux casks, then finished in Madeira and Portuguese Moscatel casks. The nose combines soft dried fruit with Octomore's smoke, then sunbaked tropical fruit, delicate florals, honeysuckle, orange blossom and a salty breeze. On the palate, rich sweet smoke leads to caramelised sugar, roasted nuts, dried fruit, candied peel and warming spices. The finish is long, sweet and smoky, with maritime freshness and lingering wood spices.
