Octomore 16.3 is an Islay single malt from Bruichladdich, part of the Series 16 releases. It is made with barley grown in Church Field on Octomore Farm, and the whisky explores what that single field brings to the spirit.
Honeyed malt, toasted grain and a distinctive earthiness lead, with delicate threads of smoke and salinity running through. Peat smoke is present but restrained.
The nose offers heather, distant bonfire smoke, barley sugar and fresh bread with lemon zest and green apple peel. On the palate come orchard fruits, citrus and vanilla sweetness, with heather and coconutty gorse. The finish is of medium length, sweet and gently smoky.
