A heavily peated Islay single malt from Bruichladdich, bottled at 62.6% in a 70cl bottle. It was distilled in 2019 from the 2018 harvest of Concerto barley grown on Islay, with a phenol content of 189.5 ppm, and matured for five years in bourbon and French virgin oak casks.
The nose opens with smoke giving way to caramelised sweetness from toasted French oak, with cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, and baked apples and pears drizzled with honey. The palate has toasted oak, roasted coffee beans, dark chocolate and sweet smoke, with an earthy note. The finish is exceptionally long, with sweet toasted wood, baking spices and a touch of sea salt.
