Octomore 17.2 is a heavily peated Islay single malt from Bruichladdich, part of the Seventeen Series and bottled at 59.5% after five years. It was matured in second-fill French oak casks and in bourbon, then finished in first-fill port barriques. It is non-chill-filtered and without added colour.
Strawberry, blackberry and cassis meet earthy smoke, pepper, lemon zest and lime oil on the nose. On the palate the peat comes forward alongside red fruit, port spice, barley and malt. The finish is long, with lingering smoke, dark fruit and port spice fading to a dry, earthy note with citrus freshness.
